Homemade Sushi

Such an easy dish. This would be great to make with your family on Friday night. Have fun!

Makes one roll

Ingredients

  • 1 sheet sushi Nori, Organic
  • 1/4 Avocado **
  • 2 tbsp julienne carrots **
  • 5 pieces of sliced of cucumber **
  • 1/2 oz cream cheese **
  • 1 half smoked Atlantic salmon packaged or 3 oz** ( you can use any seafood you’d like. This is what I had in my fridge.)
  • 1 to 1-1/4cup cooked (room temperature) Jasmine rice or riced cauliflower ( I did not make this with riced cauliflower, because I did not have any on hand, but I plan to try it. My husband thinks it’s a sin lol)
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • Amino liquids or soy sauce for dipping
  • Delamu Bamboo sushi mat kit ( The nice thing about this kit is it provides a beginners instruction guide (downloadable PDF) and recipes. 1 paddle, 1 spreader, 2 bamboo mats, 5 chopsticks. Great buy! )

Instructions

  1. Mix rice with rice vinegar.
  2. Place saran wrap over bamboo rolling sheet (optional)
  3. Place nori sheet on the mat, add rice, then additional ingredients
  4. roll mat based on instructions provided with the kit.
  5. Cut roll down the middle, and then cut additional pieces per desired size. ( I had some the size of a mini burrito. No matter how it looks, it’s going to taste good.)
